About Us

The Developmental Database is a secure database of families who wish to take part in developmental research. We have partnered with a group of developmental psychology labs, who conduct research studies to examine how children, teens, and adults learn, grow, and develop across the lifespan. Please click on the “Click here” button below to be directed to our form to enter your family into the database or click on the buttons at the top of this page to learn more about the database.

Purpose of the Database

We’re creating a contact list of families who might be interested in taking part in future research studies. This list will include some basic information about you and your child (such as birth year, gender, and ethnicity) along with your contact details (like phone number, email, and home address).

Researchers at Laurier will use this database to reach out about upcoming studies that look at how people grow and develop — from childhood through adulthood. Topics may include things like how children make moral decisions, form a sense of self, build relationships, manage emotions, and succeed in school.
