IMPORTANT NOTICE: The OPPAT is owned and operated under agreement by Wilfrid Laurier University and is administered at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario and at the City of Ottawa Paramedic Services Headquarters. We do not provide training programs or other test preparation services. We are not affiliated with, and we do not support or endorse, any third-party physical training programs, preparatory courses, or any products or services that claim to train or prepare individuals for the OPPAT. We are not responsible for the quality, content, accuracy or safety of any third-party services or products. The use of any third-party services and products is at the sole risk and responsibility of the user. Enrollment in and use of such third-party services or products does not guarantee that you will pass the OPPAT.

PRE-REGISTRATION  

Before you complete the pre-registration process 

The pre-registration process is for students, new hires and active-duty paramedics. If you are returning-to-work following an absence from the workplace, please contact us at oppat@wlu.ca.

ALL CANDIDATES ARE ASKED TO READ THE FAQ PAGE, WHICH CONTAINS CRUCIAL INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR TEST.  

To complete the pre-registration process you will need a valid credit card. Candidates must submit credit card payment information at the time of pre-registration to secure their testing day and time. 

The cost of the testing is: $312.50 + 40.62 (HST) = $353.12

PRE-REGISTERING FOR YOUR OPPAT™ TEST

Candidates must pre-register for their OPPAT™ test. Please use the following link to access the pre-registration portal https://app.acuityscheduling.com/schedule.php?owner=13334613

Please note – your pre-registration appointment is ONLY a placeholder and is NOT the date/time/ location of your actual scheduled test. The pre-registration request form can take up to 5 business days to be processed.

When your CONFIRMED appointment has been scheduled, you will receive an email containing the date / time / location of your CONFIRMED OPPAT™ test.

OPPAT™ APPOINTMENT PRE-REGISTRATION FORM

ALL candidates are required to pre-register for a TEMPORARY appointment in order to receive a CONFIRMED appointment.

When completing your pre-registration form, it is imperative that you
indicate your scheduling limitations (i.e., dates and times that you
CANNOT attend) in order for the OPPAT™ Booking Team to schedule a CONFIRMED appointment accordingly.

When you have completed your pre-registration form for a TEMPORARY appointment, you will receive an email from the Acuity Scheduling Registration System indicating that your pre-registration form has been successfully submitted for processing.

PLEASE NOTE: The date and time on the email notice are ONLY TEMPORARY until your confirmed appointment has been scheduled by the OPPAT™ Booking Team. Candidates cannot self-schedule their confirmed appointment.

When the pre-registration form has been submitted, the date and time of the CONFIRMED appointment will be assigned by the OPPAT™ Booking Team within five (5) business days.

Pre-registration forms are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis in coordination with the earliest available appointment.

OPPAT™ CONFIRMED APPOINTMENT NOTIFICATION

When your CONFIRMED appointment has been scheduled, you will receive receive two (2) email notices:

Email #1 will be from the Acuity Scheduling Registration System with the date, time and location of the CONFIRMED appointment.

Email #2 will be from oppat@wlu.ca with the date, time, and location of your CONFIRMED appointment, and, instructions to be followed for the day of your appointment.

Please check your inbox and your ‘junk’ folders for messages from Acuity Scheduling, oppat@wlu.ca, and oppatbookings@wlu.ca regarding pre-registration and confirmed appointments.

OPPAT™ testing is offered at two (2) locations: the Ottawa Paramedic Service and in Waterloo at Wilfrid Laurier University.
